R.
Daniel Shook
is a 1981 graduate from Bowling Green State University with dual majors
in Personnel and Industrial/Labor Relations. Originally from Troy, Ohio,
Dan grew up with several cats and his best friend — a rescue dog from
the local animal shelter named Rolly. As a child, Dan was involved with
the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1974.
As a
lifelong entrepreneur involved in several endeavors, Dan started a Donut
and Ice Cream Shop during his senior year of college, then moved forward
into Real Estate specializing in redevelopment of distressed properties.
Being life-long pet lovers, Dan and his wife were valued clients of
Total Pet Care. When the opportunity arose to join the Total Pet Care
family, it brought Dan full circle through his life pursuits which began
with his love for pets.
Along the
way, Dan's core beliefs never changed. His golden rule of business is
providing high quality service and treating clients the way he would
want to be treated. Dan believes in consistency, structure and high
standards. The value of doing the basics well everyday will lead to
appreciative and happy clients, insuring long term success. Dan expects
all of the staff members to be leaders and to realize that working
together will make a great environment for the team and the clients.
Dan's
wife has been involved every step of the way in all of his business
adventures, even tolerant when necessary. Although, moving 10 times
during the first 8 years they were married, as they bought and sold Real
Estate, was a bit challenging. Today, they are busy keeping up with
their children's schedules, their cats, and their rescue dog Lola.
